Alicante Provincial Council and Energy Agency sign memorandum of understanding on the Covenant of Mayors
The Provincial Council and Energy Agency of Alicante have signed a memorandum of understanding for joint management of the Covenant of Mayors initiative. The cooperation agreement foresees a wide range of actions aimed to accelerate the transition towards sustainable energy management in the province.

In the framework of this agreement, the Energy Agency has pledged to provide technical assistance to municipalities having committed to the Covenant, promote the initiative to those who haven’t and manage the development of other activities related to sustainable energy at the provincial level.

For its part, the Provincial Council has committed to providing all the material and logistical support necessary to help the agency fulfill its mission.

So far, as many as 103 municipalities of the Province have joined the Covenant of Mayors. Of these, a total of 70 have already adopted their Sustainable Energy Action Plan.
