EEEF technical assistance fund to trigger €100m investments in five Covenant cities
Five Covenant of Mayors Signatories - Santander, Cordoba, Terrassa, Marbella and the Island Council of La Palma – are to receive technical assistance funding to support the development of investment programmes foreseen in their Sustainable Energy Action Plans.

The EEEF technical assistance facility will be instrumental in helping these Covenant Signatories to develop mature projects (prepare feasibility studies, business plans, tendering processes, etc.) that can be suitable for later EEEF financing. The total investments planned in the five local authorities should amount to €100 million. The measures foreseen will notably include renovation of up to 100,000 street lighting points and generate 7,942Mwh in renewable energy for own use. The CO2 savings resulting from the energy efficient renovations are expected to reach over 25,000 tonnes per year.

More information on this can be found here on the EEEF website.
