EUSEW 2012 to prompt wave of local energy days across Europe
To fulfil their Covenant of Mayors commitments and bring their long-term visions to fruition, signatories need the active support and involvement of their citizens. This is likely to be secured through the organisation of awareness-raising events such as Local Energy Days, organised once a year by signatories, mostly in parallel to the >>[EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW)->].

In 2012, EUSEW is to take place during the week of 18-22 June.

Signatories organising their energy days within this framework will benefit from enhanced international visibility, media attention and communication support provided by the EUSEW secretariat, notably by:

  • Featuring in EUSEW official programme and online web platform
  • Receiving social media attention notably via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr
  • Benefitting from a European media focus on sustainable energy

To take part in this year’s Sustainable Energy Week, signatories are invited to open an easy-to-set-up account and register their event here. For more information and enquiries please contact the EUSEW Secretariat at
