Newly published guidelines explain role of Covenant of Mayors Supporters
What does it mean to be a Covenant Supporter? How to implement the commitments? Where to start? Answers to these and many other questions can now be found in the [newly published “Guidelines for Covenant Supporters”->] produced by the Covenant of Mayors Office. The aim of this new publication is to provide networks of local and regional authorities with an overview of the key activities and responsibilities associated with their role within the Covenant of Mayors.

The guidelines are divided according to the different tasks (which include promotion of the initiative, networking and administrative support to signatories, etc.) that a Covenant Supporter commits to fulfill when signing an agreement with the European Commission and are accompanied by examples of relevant actions already implemented by fellow associations, as well as useful tips from the Covenant of Mayors Office.

These guidelines shall be particularly useful for networks of local and regional authorities interested to know more about their potential involvement in the Covenant of Mayors. They should also prove useful to newly-engaged Covenant Supporters seeking to gain a better understanding of what is expected from them and the tasks to be performed to support signatory members in their efforts. The guidelines are available in English only in the Covenant of Mayors library.
