As part of the series of debates organised by the Covenant of Mayors Office and the Brussels Offices of the European Regions and Provinces, an after-lunch meeting will take place at the Steiermark Office for German and Austrian Länder, Avenue de Tervuren 82, B-1040 Brussels, on 2 February 2010 from 14:00 to 15:30.

The programme for this meeting will feature:

• a presentation on the Covenant of Mayors by Roman Doubrava (European Commission, DG TREN);
• an insight into the Basque Country’s role as a Covenant Supporting Structure, presented by Jose Ramon Lopez (Ente Vasco de la Energía);
• a discussion on the role of Supporting Structures within the Covenant of Mayors;
• an introduction to the ELENA facility, by Ralf Goldmann (European Investment Bank); and
• an open discussion   

This event is the second in the series of debates, and will follow the 1st Covenant of Mayors Breakfast, which will be held at the North East England Office for English and Irish Local Authorities, boulevard St Michel 80, 1040 Brussels, on the morning of 2 February 2010 from 9:30 to 11:00.
