Águeda: the first Portuguese smart city - July 2012

Águeda is a small Portuguese city with a population of 15,000 in central/northern Portugal. As part of the Covenant of Mayors and in the framework of its local energy agenda, Águeda is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 33℅ by 2020. The city has already achieved a reduction of 20% thanks to the engagement of its citizens and the creation of successful partnerships with the private sector. This video shows the different actions the city has developed to enhance its energy performance.
